David Burnet Park offers visitors recreational park amenities within its 3.4 acre site. As a result of a new master plan for all the parks within Precinct Two, a goal was established to also offer visitors an outdoor learning environment. This small, but important Park, is the historic site of the plantation and home of David G. Burnet, the first president of the Republic of Texas. This Park offers an opportunity to demonstrate the proud history of David Burnet and his role in Texas History. The interpretive elements, designed by D|G Studios, emphasize the history of the Park as a home site to the Burnets, its close proximity, and shared history, with the Lynchburg Ferry and the San Jacinto Battleground.
