Houston Fire Museum Master Plan

Houston, Texas
The Houston Fire Museum was originally Fire Station No. 7, the first fire station built by the Houston Fire Department in 1895. Preservation of old Fire Station No. 7 as a fire museum began in 1980. By 2000, activities at the Fire Museum outgrew the old fire station and it was decided to build a new Fire Museum a block away. D|G Studios, working with the architectural team, developed an Exhibit Master Plan to address the educational and immersive experiences within the new facility. The new museum is intended to focus on education and prevention of life safety. Plans call for having the antique equipment on the first floor and the historic artifacts from personnel on the second floor.
