Fort Worth, Texas
In 2009, the City of Fort Worth dedicated a $1.2 million, five-acre park to honor its first-responders killed in the line of duty. The design of this lasting memorial intends to create a place of contemplation, a place to mourn, a place to honor and a place to rejoice in a life well-lived. Some of the highlights are a 10-foot tall statue of a riderless horse, whose empty saddle is a nationally recognized symbol of a fallen officer and a granite "trail" through the site representing a journey through time. Where the path crosses stone bands, stone pedestals provide stories of individuals honored by their service. D|G Studios provided design and project management services to develop the honorees and donor recognition programs.
