Houston, Texas
Hermann Park, presented to the City of Houston by George Hermann in 1914, is one of Houston's most historically significant public spaces. The Park is a 445-acre urban landmark owned by the City of Houston and preserved by the Hermann Park Conservancy. A new vehicular and pedestrian wayfinding system aims to connect all of the destinations offered in and around the Park in an user-friendly, environmentally sensitive manner. Working with the Hermann Park Conservancy, D|G Studios produced a comprehensive plan, adding more than 100 signs at critical vehicular and pedestrian intersections. The new signs include directionals that aid drivers locate the entrance to the Park, and its various destinations, as well as pedestrian wayfinding maps to inspire visitors to explore the Park and all of its best kept secrets.
