Centro Plaza at VIA Villa, is San Antonio VIA’s newest and most unique transit center, opened for service in November 2015. The modern plaza provides a comfortable area for transferring, digital next-bus arrival signs, air-conditioned waiting areas, and a full-service customer service center. Service through Centro Plaza helps minimize travel times and avoid unnecessary trips downtown while maintaining access to downtown destinations. D|G collaborated with the team to further develop and document design concepts that had previously been approved by the Board. As a component of the signage program, interpretive panels have been incorporated into the Plaza that highlight San Antonio's history, development and personalities.
